ABOUT JOHN SALWAY
John was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Salway began his figure skating career at the age of 3. Throughout Salway's 22 year competitive skating career, he became a National and International medalist while competing for Team USA.

John began teaching in 2001, while still competing because of his love and passion for the "process". Salway primarily works with hockey players on improving their overall movement and athleticism on the ice.
John has a unique approach to teaching "power skating" by focusing on kinetic movement through hybrid drills that have a figure skating base in a hockey setting. Salway is able to create a relationship with his students that is encompassed by trust and dedication to the "process".

Salway is the current Skating & Skills coach, as well as the video coordinator for the ECHL Fort Wayne Komets. Salway is based out of SportOne Parkview Icehouse where he is the Assistant Hockey Director.
